Participants will:

  • Understand key models of blended, hybrid and online learning
  • Select appropriate tools for synchronous and asynchronous activities
  • Design engaging learning sequences that mix online and face-to-face work
  • Integrate formative assessment and feedback in digital environments
  • Address accessibility, inclusion and digital well-being
  • Develop a flexible unit plan that can move across learning modes

Day 1 – From emergency remote teaching to intentional design

  • Introductions and course overview
  • Sharing experiences with online and hybrid teaching
  • Key concepts: blended, hybrid, flipped, micro-learning
  • Analysing sample learning scenarios
  • Reflection: main challenges in participants’ contexts

Day 2 – Platforms and tools for online learning

  • Learning management systems and collaboration tools
  • Apps for interaction, quizzes, collaborative writing and multimedia
  • Hands-on exploration in small groups
  • Designing simple online tasks and activities
  • Gallery walk: sharing tools and ideas

Day 3 – Designing blended and hybrid units

  • Structuring learning sequences (before–during–after class)
  • Balancing synchronous and asynchronous learning
  • Group work: drafting a blended/hybrid unit plan
  • Peer feedback and refinement
  • Considering workload for teachers and students

Day 4 – Assessment, feedback and support online

  • Formative assessment in digital environments
  • Feedback strategies: written, audio, video, peer feedback
  • Supporting students at risk of disengagement
  • Integrating digital well-being practices
  • Updating unit plans with assessment and support elements

Day 5 – Implementation and school-wide strategies

  • Managing communication with students and families
  • Proportionate policies for attendance, deadlines, flexibility
  • Planning professional learning communities around blended learning
  • Finalising participants’ unit or course designs
  • Sharing key insights and resources

Day 6 – Consolidation and closing

  • Recap activities and discussion: what will I do differently now?
  • Clinic: solving last implementation questions
  • Planning next steps and potential Erasmus+ collaborations
  • Evaluation, Certificates of Attendance and closing ritual
  • Optional local cultural activity
