In Lisbon, Portugal, the SPARK consortium successfully completed its second face-to-face partner meeting on 14 and 15 May 2026, hosted at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, with partners also joining online.
SPARK – “Igniting the confidence and capacity of school leaders, teachers and parents in providing quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (KA220-SCH-E9D64D4D) – brings together European partners with a shared commitment to supporting schools, educators, parents and school leaders through high-quality educational resources, training activities and transnational cooperation.
During the two-day meeting, partners reviewed the progress achieved under WP2, including the development and analysis of pre/post questionnaires, training evaluations, needs assessment activities and deliverable updates. These results will provide an important foundation for the next stages of the project, particularly for the development of the educational material under WP4.
A key part of the meeting focused on WP4, which includes the training modules, the CSE Teaching Resource Bank, the SPARK Trainer Manual and the MOOC. LabSTEM and Open Up presented the proposed MOOC architecture and the structure of the learning modules, contributing to the creation of an accessible, well-organised and meaningful online learning experience for the project’s target groups.
The consortium also discussed WP5 dissemination activities, including newsletters, conferences, events and journal articles, as well as the overall timeline of deliverables and the planning of the next project meetings. The educational material is expected to be developed by the end of September 2026, while the pilot implementation is planned to take place from October 2026 to March 2027.
The meeting was productive and inspiring, offering partners the opportunity to exchange ideas, review progress and coordinate the next steps of the project. Open Up was represented by its Chairman, Stylianos Orfanakis, and its project contact person, Katerina Ganatsiou. Open Up is pleased to contribute to this important European initiative and to support the development of educational tools that strengthen confidence, capacity and quality in school education.
